Get Involved

The Penn State Faculty Alliance is building momentum, and we need your help to keep it growing.

If you're unsure where to start, the Organizing Committee (OC) can provide department lists, guidance on who to contact, and messaging tips to make these conversations as effective as possible. You can also assist by suggesting names of colleagues for the OC to follow up with, ensuring that no one who wants to be part of this effort gets overlooked.

There is no part of being a worker in the US that is empowered by today's laws, norms, and ethics. It is incumbent on workers to self-organize to seize that. There is no better way to empower yourself as a worker than by being part of a union. - Sascha Meinrath, Palmer Chair in Telecommunications, University Park

Beyond direct outreach, there are many ways to show your support. A simple statement or recorded testimonial can help inspire others to get involved. Hosting a department meeting gives faculty a space to voice their concerns and discuss how a union can address them, while organizing a social event can help foster connections across departments. Engaging students, staff, and alumni strengthens our movement, and flyering your department or printing a sign for your office door keeps visibility high. For those who want to show their solidarity in an easy way, union swag is available upon request. However you choose to participate, your involvement makes a difference in building a stronger, more united faculty.
