FAQ: Administrative Interference
Why do University administrators often run expensive, unnecessary, and divisive anti-union campaigns?
University administrators run these campaigns with the primary goal of dissuading faculty from voting “yes” and forming a union. This strategy is used to allow the administration to maintain its current level of control and to preserve the status quo.
What could the anti-union campaign look like at PSU?
An anti-union campaign can present itself in various ways from getting an email from the Provost or Administrator to being called into a 1:1 meeting with your boss. Other popular tactics the administration might use are holding captive audience meetings, 1:1 meetings, making threats or promises, sending emails, or making phone calls.
